The traditional Siamese, also known as the apple-headed Siamese or the Apple point Siamese cat, has a rounded head and chunky body. Those cats are larger, a little rounder in the face, and much more muscular. Generally talking they are long and slender with a pointed face and aquiline nose. Still, they seem healthier that the modern ones. They are considered as the first type of Siamese that appeared in the USA in the 19th century.

While the Apple Point Siamese can be found in the same color variants as the modern Siamese, their shape and build are very different. The apple head tends to be slightly larger and stockier than the modern Siamese, and their heads are rounder and less pronouncedly pointed, hence the “apple head” name.

 A Thai manuscript called the Tamra Maew shows a description of the Siamese cats. That book was made between the 14th and 18th centuries which suggests that Siamese cats are a very old breed.

Lilac point or lavender point Siamese do refer to the same breed. These Siamese have an ethereal beauty that no one can deny.

This cat has the palest coloring of the breed, with pinkish ears and very light gray-colored fur that almost has the look of frost. This leads to the lavender point’s additional nickname; the “frost point” in America. They are the lightest of the four major breed colors (Seal, Chocolate, Blue, and Lilac). This color pattern is actually the dilute version of the Chocolate Point.

Everything about a Lilac should be pale, even this cat’s eyes are paler than any other Siamese, and they ideally should be pale, china blue. Their nose leather and paw pads have a pale pink undertone, and they should have light cream or magnolia-colored (not pure white) coats, which stay pale throughout their lives.

An apricot is a cream that has at least one set of the dilute modifier gene which modifies the cream into apricot.

The feet and legs are paler in color. They have a hot cream colored point with a shot metallic sheen to it. These points tend to be pale when they are still kittens and start to get obvious as they age. The ears, paw pads, nose, and lips would have certain freckles. The beautiful body coat color is warm creamy white, and if any shading does exist then it would be tone to the points. The paw pads, eye rims, and nose leather are pinkish.

As their name represents, Siamese cats originated from felines born in Siam in Thailand. No one can really know how they made it to the American lands during the 19th century. Luckily, the lovely breed has made its way to the country to become one of the most favorite cat breeds.

 A Thai manuscript called the Tamra Maew shows a description of the Siamese cats. That book was made between the 14th and 18th centuries which suggests that Siamese cats are a very old breed.

What is best than a natural calm color?  Having a cat like this is nothing but being lucky.

First of all, cream point Siamese were created by the breeding of red domestic shorthair, Siamese and Abys cats. They are considered as a hybrid because of the complicated process of breeding. Those cats have cool cream colored points with white cream body color. Mask, ears and tail cool toned cream with a powdery look. A dark but cool toned cream is permissible, but a hot cream is incorrect. The legs and feet will be slightly paler in color but definite color should show at the rear of the hind legs below the hock. Barring and striping on mask, legs and tail is permissible. ‘Freckles’ may occur on nose, paw pads, lips, eyelids and ears.

As their name represents, Siamese cats originated from felines born in Siam in Thailand. No one can really know how they made it to the American lands during the 19th century. Luckily, the lovely breed has made its way to the country to become one of the most favorite cat breeds.

 A Thai manuscript called the Tamra Maew shows a description of the Siamese cats. That book was made between the 14th and 18th centuries which suggests that Siamese cats are a very old breed.

Isn’t it weird having a blue cat? Well, not as much as its sound, blue point Siamese cats do exist, but why they are called so?

The blue point Siamese has a bluish-white body with deep-blue points. This is a cold color that would gradually shade away towards the stomach and the chest. It also shades into blue on the backside. As the cat gradually ages, the color of the coat becomes dark. Their nose and paw pads are slate-colored, also known to be a “dilute” seal color. This Siamese is a variant of the Seal Point Siamese and as such shares that his face, ears, tail, paws, and nose all feature the same coloration.

As their name represents, Siamese cats originated from felines born in Siam in Thailand. No one can really know how they made it to the American lands during the 19th century. Luckily, the lovely breed has made its way to the country to become one of the most favorite cat breeds.

 A Thai manuscript called the Tamra Maew shows a description of the Siamese cats. That book was made between the 14th and 18th centuries which suggests that Siamese cats are a very old breed.

Like the names shows. These Siamese cats have warm and cinnamon brown points. The color of the body is in ivory with legs a bit paler. The eye rims are cinnamon brown and paw pads are cinnamon; they should be brilliant intense blue eyes, the deeper the better.

Cinnamon Points can look quite similar to Chocolates, but whereas a Chocolate Point has dark chocolate-brown points, the points on a Cinnamon are more of warm, reddish, rusty-brown. Name just on point!

Their legs may be slightly paler than their other points, with their coats are a pale ivory.

Chocolate, very delicious food and a delicious color too! A chocolate point Siamese cat is so attractive. They have mostly white fur with chocolate-colored highlights on their face, ears, tail, paws, and nose. It’s a real heartstring!

When you think of this body color, you think of an ivory white without any kind of shading. And that causes a contrast effect between the points and the body. If you find one, then you are lucky cause this breed is rare.

Your cat’s ears should not be darker than the color masking its face, and the legs should appear paler than the Seal Point’s. Chocolates have nose leather and paw pads decorated with pinkish brown shades. In some cases, you may find a Chocolate Point with a warmer, cinnamon-like color. 1. Siamese Cats Are A Very Old Breed

A Thai manuscript called the Tamra Maew shows a description of the Siamese cats. That book was made between the 14th and 18th centuries which suggests that Siamese cats are a very old breed.

2. Siamese Cats Had Crossed Eyes Before

A lot of Siamese cats once had crossed eyes and kinked tails. Cat experts suggest that these features made the cats unwanted. However, these physical features were thought to be some kind of myth. But today, you can see a cross-eyed Siamese cat.

3. Siamese Cats Have Round Faces

Originally, the Siamese cats had a heavier body and a round face shape. Gradually, they were bred into the fine-boned shape they are today. You can see the variety in Siamese shapes in cat shows, however, some cat breeders still produce Siamese kitten with the traditional look.

4. The Siamese Breed Was Once The World’s Fattest Breed

On average, the male Siamese cat weighs up to 11 to 15 pounds (6.8 kg) and the female ones weigh up to 8 to 12 pounds (5.44 kg). The Guinness World Record does not want to encourage people to overfeed their pets for the sake of being registered. However, a Siamese cat named Katy has claimed the title of the world’s fattest cat earlier in 2003. Katy ended up reaching 50 pounds (22.68 kg) which is equal to the weight of a six-year-old boy.

5. Their Tips Are Temperature-controlled 

First things first, Siamese cats have a white coat, dark paws, and ears, have you ever wondered why? Well, it happens because of the temperature-sensitive enzyme that makes the Siamese develop the color in all of their body. Originally, Siamese kittens are born with white fur then they develop their color points weeks later.

6. Siamese Cats Were Treated in a Royal Way

Today, most cats get treatment like royalty. That was the same case hundreds of years ago when many Thailand families treated Siamese cats were treated in a royal way. Siamese cats were thought to have the souls of the family members who had passed away.

7. A U.S President Once Had a Siamese Cat

The first Siamese cat that arrived in the U.S belonged to the president Rutherford B. Hayes‘ wife Lucy as a gift. In 1878, a U.S diplomat working at the consul in Thailand shipped one of the fines Siamese cats to the First Lady. Ever since that time, Siamese cats became one of the most favorite cat breeds of all time.

8. Siamese Cats Were Once Considered Spies

Two Siamese cats were extremely clever that they alerted their owners to hidden microphones at the Dutch Embassy in Moscow, Russia. Both of the cats were sleeping happily while, out of the blue, they started to jump on their paws and clawing the walls. The Ambassador, Henri Helb, thought that they must have figured out something that is not accessible to the human ears. After investigating, they discovered 30 tiny microphones hidden behind those walls.

9. Siamese Cats are Surrounded by Folklore

According to the legend, a clowder Siamese cat was thought to stand to protect the royal golden goblet. Unlike the common beliefs that cats do not care enough to do anything seriously, these Siamese cats took their job very seriously.
